A Large Place
Heart Prep
Pray and ask God to open up your heart to see His amazing power at work in your life. Ask Him for strength to be able to see farther than what is closing in on you.
A new day is coming.
Psalm 118:5-6 “From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me in a large place. The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?”
When I get stressed out, it feels like my whole world is closing in on me. Assignments being due, tests, homework, friends, church, family, exercise, my own physical and mental health: it is hard to balance all of these things. Life can be very stressful, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. God’s Word tells us that when we are in distress we can call upon Him, and He will answer us and put us in a large place. I love that He included, “set me in a large place”. If you go from being stressed, in a compressed, small place, to the Lord answering you and setting you in a large place, imagine the differences: your world isn’t closing in on you anymore; you can see the horizon; you can see fields stretch for miles; you can see the blue sky and the white puffy clouds floating across the sky; you can breathe again; you are free from your stress of your world. That’s what God is capable of. When you get overstressed with school, friends, family, relationships, or just your own mental and emotional health, ask God to set you in a large place, to give you some perspective and relief. He will do it. Trust that He will do wonders. The Lord is FOR YOU (Romans 8:31). That means He loves you, and He’s fighting for you. He’s fighting against the devil and all of his demons while they try to take you down and take you out. You’ve got the Ultimate Warrior on your side. Find peace in that, and let Him fight your battles. You don’t have to fear. Let Him take you to that large place.
