Along His Path…Perseverance, Joy and Gratitude
Heart Prep
Prepare your heart for His word. Sit for a moment and look at something in nature,
and consider its beauty or the intricacy of how it works or exists.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD,
‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Joy, gratitude and perseverance. Gratitude, perseverance and joy. No matter the order, a long life-walk with The Lord should be done with joyful thanksgiving. Why? Because we chose to trust in the God who knows the plans He has for us, plans established since before the beginning of time. Love requires perseverance, and we are falling in love with a Bridegroom who lavishes the whole of His Kingdom on us. He fills an evening’s sky so full of stars, with no moon, that it takes our breath away when we look up. All of this comes from a God who loves us so much that His Son joyfully gave His life on our behalf that we would be reconciled to Him. Father, may we delight in You and in all You put in our path. Amen.
Look back at your week and consider the joy of the events and the people.
Look back at your week and list the reasons to thank Him.
Look back at your week, the minute by minute long walk in the same direction that He asked you to do. Did you persevere with gratitude and joy? Praise Him. Did you persevere with a poor attitude? Repent, ask for forgiveness and for His Spirit to show you the joy along the path.
