Distress Signal: S.O.S.

Heart Prep

When I'm in trouble and in distress who do I call?

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

The universal distress signal is S.O.S. Many people think this means "save our souls" or "save our ships". In researching it, I found it means neither of these things, but rather S.O.S. simply seemed an appropriate acronym for help. How cool is that?! When I am in distress, I send out signals to God by praying. I do not doubt for a second that He would understand if I simply said, "God, S.O.S." He is exactly that kind of God. He is all powerful, all knowing, and ever present.  December of 2018, I spent a month in the hospital ICU unit with my beloved husband, who had suffered a brain bleed. I wrote in my prayer journal to God daily: this gave me great peace and strength. You see, precious one, when I called out to God in my distress, He comforted me.  My faith that God heard my prayers brought me the peace and strength that only He can provide. I don't know what you may be going through in life, but I do know that, whatever it is, God can handle it. Sweet one, know that God cares for you; we care for you. Troubles will come in many different forms and fashions, but know, precious girl, that you have a God that is capable and caring.  Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Call out to God!!

1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it."

Do I rely on God to hear my distress signal? If not, then why?

With whom do I need to share this today?
