Corner Pillars

Heart Prep

Take this time to pray and thank God for giving you the opportunity
to be His precious creation. Thank Him for His goodness in creating
man and woman and the awesome differences between the two.
Ask Him to help you lean on Him for strength and wisdom each day.

Psalm 144:12  “Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants,
and our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace.”

Daughters are to be as corner pillars. Pillars are the very foundation that a palace relies on to remain standing. Without strong pillars to hold it up, it is reduced to rubble. That’s exactly why Samson pulled down the pillars of the temple of Dagon, a pagan god, in Judges 16:23-30. We women have a great responsibility to be the corner pillars of our families. It doesn’t matter if we’re 13, 23, 53, or 93, we all have the awesome opportunity to be strong women of God. It doesn’t matter that you are young, you’re still a pillar of your family and can have an influence for good. You can still be an amazing, strong woman of God. If you want to know how to become that kind of woman, everything you need to know is in God’s Word. Read Proverbs 31, the description of a godly, ambitious, wise and caring woman, who speaks with kindness. Ask God to help you build her character qualities into your own life. Read the book of Proverbs - one chapter a day – until you soak up the wisdom, instruction, cautions, and reproofs contained in it. You’ll find yourself applying the verses to experiences in your own life, and sharing them with others to help and encourage them. One is, “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones (Proverbs 16:24).” Daughter, you are a corner pillar fashioned as for a palace. You have the potential to be strong in the Lord. The more you spend time with God in His Word, the stronger He helps you to become. He invites you to come. It’s a choice you must make every day. Will you be a strong pillar in your family?
