God, show me where am I walking.

Psalm 139:23-24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.”

I often find myself reciting this verse.  Let's admit it, being nice and good and kind all the time can be hard. If we aren’t careful the sin nature takes over and we start judging others, being jealous and mean, and gossiping. I pray this verse, because it is exactly what I need God to hear from me: “Search me”. Shine a light in my heart and show me what is there. Help me to be more like You. Help me see the good in others, and be a good example to those around me. Help me treat them as You would. Keep my thoughts pure and clean. Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 23:3b “He guides me in the paths of righteousness…”

Precious One, when you hide God's Word in your heart you can speak it when you need it most. When you find yourself swallowed up in the daily drama of life, remember these verses; say them to yourself or out loud. When Satan is tugging at you to join the fighting and meanness of the world, resist him! James 4:7-8 “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Lean right into Him; draw strength from Him. Then, recite His Word. It is your sword, and when you draw it out (recite it), you are using it the same way Jesus did to defeat Satan in the wilderness. God will provide a way out of your temptation, but you must be looking, trusting God to show you the way. If you are not looking for it, you will not see it.  God cares deeply for you, and He can help you through whatever you face today and every day. Follow Him in the Everlasting Way.
