Do Not Fear
Please help me, Lord, to give my worries to You and trust You to take care of me. Please help me to be thankful and to talk with You about everything.
Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Did you know that “fear not” is one of the most often repeated phrases in the Bible? Someone once told me it is spoken 365 times. God wants us to know, 365 days a year, that we do not have to worry or be scared or anxious. If we truly believe God is Who He says He is, and that He created the entire world and all that is in it, do we need to worry? Worrying is a lack of trust and faith in the God Who loves us and wants to take care of us. If we go back and reread the Scripture above, we find that not only are we not supposed to worry, but we are to be thankful for, and pray about, everything. This means thanking God when it feels like we are right in the middle of chaos and confusion. We can thank Him for what He will do with that chaos and confusion. Purposely thank Him when something in your life seems to go wrong, and see how He uses it for your good. If we belong to Jesus and we give Him our lives, we can definitely trust that, in His time and in His way, God will make all things beautiful. Sometimes we forget that He did create all that there is, and He does not need our help to fix things. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “ He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, (without which) man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.”
