Do You Trust Me?
Heart Prep
Find a quiet moment and sit with your hands open and pray, “Lord God, I ask You to open my heart to be ready for whatever You may call me to do. Begin a work in me, planting a seed of passion for Your will in my life. Lord, I open my hands, letting go of what I think is best so I can receive your perfect plan.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them,
for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”
This verse is very special to me, cliché as that may be. It came at a time when I needed more courage than I knew I had. This past year, God called me away from the familiar to live and work literally on the other side of the world. God has a way, if we allow Him, of preparing our hearts for the feats He calls us to. The Lord continually brought me these words throughout the process of uprooting, and as I boarded the plane: "never will I leave you or forsake you" were my words of confidence. Confidence that God had called me to this step, and confidence that I had everything I needed to accomplish it.
The words “be strong and courageous” actually appear quite often in the Bible. It seems that God has a thing for calling us to tasks that require courage and strength. What I've learned, though, is that we never actually feel strong and courageous in these moments. That is probably why God has to remind us. In these moments of bravery, we often feel like God should be talking to someone else, but nope, He is talking to me. He knows and sees what we can't. He knows the unbelievable blessing that is on the other side of a little fear; that a small leap of faith will take us further than we ever imagined. He knows that He will be right beside us, giving us the strength and courage for each moment of the journey.
So, from this Georgia girl, sweating it out in Nonthaburi, Thailand, be strong and courageous! You'll be surprised where God will take you.
Life Application
Read Hebrew 10:35-36.
What might God be asking you to do that requires you to confidently trust in Him?
What is one step you could take today in trusting God's plan for your life?
Take a moment and think what fears you may be allowing to block the door to something God has prepared for you?
On your mirror, your phone, your notebook, somewhere, I challenge you to write Deuteronomy 31:6
and repeat it to yourself throughout the week.
