He Heals
Heart Prep
Pray and open your heart to God’s love. Tell Him about your wounds and be honest about your weak spots. Ask Him to heal you and make you stronger in your faith
and in your love for Him.
Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Has anyone hurt you so badly that you feel broken? Someone very close to me once hurt me, worse than anyone else could possibly hurt me. They left me wounded in ways that overwhelmed me. I often wondered if I would ever be healed from that broken heart. It has caused a lot of unrest in my life, especially as I’ve gotten older.
I didn’t know if I could ever forgive that person for what they did to me. But amidst all of that pain, confusion, and anger, I chose to seek the Lord. I could’ve chosen to stay angry and to sulk in my pain and keep the wound open, but I knew my life wouldn’t get any better if I did that. And, I would be hurting the Holy Spirit, which God says in Ephesians 4:30-33 we are not to do. We are to remove all bitterness, rage, anger, evil gossip, and hatred from our heart and forgive others completely, no holding back, just like Jesus has forgiven us! When you do that Jesus binds up the wound and nourishes your heart back to health.
Sometimes, I get low and I sift through my mind looking for some understanding of “why?” But I never find what I’m looking for. Jesus reminds me that it doesn’t matter. It has been forgiven, just as He has forgiven the wrongs I’ve done to others. I can only praise Him and thank Him! He is so good! I could write ten thousand pages talking about how good He is, but you’ll only believe me when you feel it for yourself. He’s waiting to heal your broken heart and give you peace and joy. Let Him be the Great Physician in your life; follow His prescription: Forgiveness.
