Help From The Lord

Heart Prep

Dear Father, prepare my heart to receive from Your Word today.
Give me ears to hear You speak directly to my heart.

Psalm 121:1-2  “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

Once we ask Jesus into our heart, we feel on top of the world. Each morning we awake, ready to tackle anything. We are fearless and full of zeal. As days turn into months, we can quickly realize that salvation doesn't instantly perfect us. In fact, we start to feel the flesh kick against our new spiritual man. During these moments, we must not grow frustrated. God allows us some of these moments to show us more of His character. There will be days when we don't feel God’s presence as definitely as in those first days. There will be many days we feel defeated and discouraged, and the enemy of our newfound salvation will seek to destroy us. He knows our weaknesses and will use them against us every chance he gets. We can truly grow weary. But Psalm 121 gives us great hope and assurance! Think about what David writes in verses 1-2:

“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;

From where shall my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.”

Who is my help? The Lord. My Lord. Your Lord. Anytime, any place, whatever the circumstance I can call upon the Lord, and He will answer. He is my keeper (121:5). What a relief! When the enemy wants me to slip, my Father will show me the trap, to keep me from falling.

What a wonderful journey the Lord has prepared for you and me. Keep walking with Him, knowing He is your constant help! There is great peace in realizing that the King of kings is your keeper. Amen!
