Wait For The Lord
Heart Prep
Take this time to humble yourself and to focus on the Lord and what lies ahead in the Scripture today. Ask Him to help your heart to wait on Him alone.
Isaiah 40:31 “Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”
Waiting is a hard thing to do. It takes a lot out of you: patience, trust, some peace, desires, wants, and longings. It’s hard on the average person. What about you? What is your soul waiting on today? Being a teenager is hard. Going to school and trying to fit in is hard. Making good grades is hard. Making friends is hard. I know how hard life is as a teenager because I was one not too long ago. I know you’re waiting to graduate, waiting to grow up, waiting to get a car or a job, waiting for your day to come when you will shine.
Today, and every day after this, can be your day. When you wait on the Lord, He will be good to you, and you will find peace. Instead of taking things into your own hands and trying to grow up too quickly, or making relationships happen when they aren’t meant to be--wait. His Plan has a timestamp on it; He has planned an exact time when everything is going to happen. And while you are waiting, you can sit back and enjoy the now. You aren’t promised a tomorrow, only that God will have it planned. You’ll find it’s so much easier to enjoy today and let today be your day to shine than to fret about the future. You’ll have strength and incentive to live in your moment. It’ll be like you’re soaring with the eagles. You’re that free when you wait for the LORD.
Life Application
What is one thing that I am currently waiting on that I really am wanting?
What would happen if I waited on the Lord instead of waiting on an event or thing in my life to happen? Would I be able to enjoy the current moment more?
How does this change my life and what are my next steps?
