Jesus Stays

Heart Prep

Pray and ask God to open up your heart to Him. Ask Him to help you see Him clearly in your life. Thank Him for never leaving you. Find peace in that today.

Romans 8:15 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again,
but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba, Father!’ ”

Have you ever been left behind in life when others moved on? Was it a close friend, a family member, or people in general who left you? It doesn’t matter why they leave, it always stings. Does it sometimes feel as if everyone leaves you and no one stays? I’m here to remind you that Jesus stays, even when no one else does. He has promised never to leave us (Hebrews 13:5).  We do not need to fear, our Father will never
leave us.

In my own life, I have felt very expendable (unneeded) to certain friends. They knew they could ignore me, be unkind to me, or do things without me, and I would be waiting faithfully to be friends again once they “came back”. I’m the reliable one. I’m the one who always stays friends until it’s just not healthy.

Being labeled as “the staying kind” is not the best feeling in the world. It can be a lonely, isolating, and fearful position if you allow it to be. But being someone who stays faithful is a gift from The Lord. Being “the staying kind” means you can be a reliable, safe place for those around you. That’s a gift, a trait that can be used for the Kingdom. I used to get so bent out of shape when people left my life. I felt so fearful that it would always be that way. But I know that God is with me, loving me, leading me, and working in my life. When everybody else leaves, Jesus stays. He quiets me with His love and comforts me like no one else. Life can be lived joyfully no matter who leaves because Jesus stays. And I will be “A woman who stays with Jesus”, what a title!
