The One Who Takes You In
Heart Prep
Take a moment to pray and ask God to be present with you while you read today’s devotional. Spend some quality time with Him; open your heart to the One who takes you in when nobody else does.
Psalm 27:10 “For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the Lord will take me up.”
Dealing with the human population can be quite a struggle. We have more problems than you can count on your fingers and your toes. We are a very flawed people. And because of this your friends are going to fail you. Your neighbors, siblings and grandparents will all fail you at some time. Even your parents will fail you. Nobody’s life story is the same, we are all unique, but we all have one thing in common: neither our lives nor our relationships will always be good. And that is okay. This is not a perfect world. Not one of us is able to be completely good to everyone all the time. Hang in there though. There is One who will never fail you. He is completely good all the time and will be good to you. And He is Just. He will deal fairly with you.
Multiple times in my life my parents did not understand me, and I felt all alone. But I knew God understood me perfectly. He knows everything about me. He always knows my heart, my intentions, and the way I feel about everything in my life. He knows it all. And He knows you. You’re not alone. You have Someone who cares about you, One Who understands you, and One Who will always take you in, even when your people don’t. You can trust Him and rely on Him completely.
Give Him a chance to have a say in your life today. Read your Bible and see what He has to say to you. Pour out your heart to Him in prayer. Spend time today with The One who will always take you in.
Life Application
List one time that you can remember God truly being there for you when nobody else was. Take your time; really think hard on this one. (He will never leave you nor forsake you. Heb.13:5)
How does this change my life, knowing that God takes me in when everyone else leaves me?
How can this challenge me to be forgiving and full of grace with those who fail me?
