Jesus Wants You!
Heart Prep
Jesus, thank You for wanting to use me.
Help me trust that You can use my life no matter what!
Luke 10:21 “At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, ‘I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent
and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.’”
Here’s the way this story plays out: Jesus sends out 70 of his followers to do His work. They weren’t the folks most people would have picked. He didn’t go for the church crowd or the religious leaders. He went for fishermen, tax collectors, women, and people that were known as sinners. He wanted to show the world that He could use anyone. So, He sends out the 70 followers and tells them to go tell others about Him. When they return, amazed at all that has happened, He tells them that He was watching as Satan fell from heaven (Luke 10:18). HE is Ruler of All; He has power over Satan and all of creation; they have authority to do miracles in HIS NAME; and nothing will hurt them, as they spread the news of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
After Jesus praised them, He turns to God and praises Him for using His followers. He gives thanks that God didn’t use the wise and intelligent but instead used the infants – new believers. Jesus sees God using the ones that men would never have picked, and it moves Him to gratitude and praise.
Maybe you think God can’t use you. Maybe you didn’t have a perfect home, your parents didn’t take you to church, and you seem to be messing up all the time. Maybe you are supposed to be the perfect child, and all you seem to do is fall short of everyone’s expectations. Guess what? Jesus wants to use you, and it would bring Him so much JOY for you to let Him use your life! He knows that if you will let Him, people will see Him in you, and He will get the glory!
