Truth: You Were Created For A Purpose

Ask the Lord to help you see that you were created for a specific purpose,
and start fulfilling that purpose today.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

Have you ever seen a fantastic painting, heard an amazing musical performance, or tasted an award-winning dessert and thought, “Wow! That painter, musician or baker is the absolute best at what they do, and they have truly mastered the art (of painting, creating music or baking).”

God is the One-and-Only Master at creating, and He created every person for a specific purpose. Jeremiah 1:5 says that God chose and created Jeremiah, before he was even born, to be a prophet and convey God’s words to the people of Israel. Esther 4:14 reveals a conversation between Queen Esther and her cousin, Mordecai, where he urges her to consider that God may have created her and made her queen of the kingdom specifically to save her people from death.

The Master Designer also created you to do very specific things for Him here on earth. He may have chosen you to be a teacher, nurse, missionary, pastor’s wife, stay-at-home mom, lawyer or cosmetologist. But no matter what He’s chosen for you to do, His ultimate purpose for you is that you honor and glorify Him. Isaiah 43:7 says that you were created for God’s glory, to worship Him, and 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” As you wait for God to reveal portions of His perfect plan for your life regarding career, marriage, family, and ministry opportunities, remember that you already know He wants you to honor and glorify Him with your daily life and actions, and you can get busy focusing on that right now.

What is God trying to say to you through the verses and truths we’ve looked at today?

How does this change your life, starting today?

Write the truth “I was created for a purpose.” on a notecard or sticky note and put it on your mirror
so you can be reminded of this truth every day.
