Have Confidence

Heart Prep

Pray and ask God to open your heart to see the amazing blessing of having a close relationship with Him. Ask Him to help you have confidence to come to Him at any time.

Hebrews 4:16 “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Have you ever been afraid to come to God? He’s the Creator of the whole universe; He’s the great Judge; He’s the Most Powerful; the Beginning and the End. He started life and He’ll end it. I can understand you might be a bit afraid of Him. The verse above is for you. GOD TELLS US that we can draw near to Him with confidence to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We can be confident when coming to Him. Of course, not overly confident, not with pride, not thinking He will give us whatever we want. But if you’re struggling with something and you need help, you can go to God with confidence that He will help you and give you grace where you need it. We all need grace. We’re all sinners and we fall short in everything we do. God is the One Who has the power to help us with anything. We don’t have to be afraid of Him. Yes, we do need to respectfully fear Him, because of all that HE IS. I see it this way: I respectfully fear my dad. Even though I’m 22 years old and don’t live at home anymore, I still respectfully fear him. I’m not going to do something or be involved in something that He wouldn’t agree with. I’m not going to disrespect him in any way. First of all, I love him and he’s my dad, and second, I fear him. I’m not afraid of him, but I respect him and his position in my life. It’s the same in my relationship with God; I respectfully fear Him because of all that He is and because He’s my Father. You might not have a good earthly father, but every Christian has a perfect Heavenly Father. He’s available to anyone who will open their heart to Him.
