Live With Purpose
Heart Prep
Take time today to ask God to open your heart and show you how you can live with purpose. Find your purpose through His Word and prayer and set out to fulfill it.
1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding
in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
Before we dive into this point, we need to make one thing clear. God is Ruler of all, and He works all things, including your life, according to His purposes. Nothing can happen without God ordaining it. However, our choices and actions also really matter. We can choose to do things that will bring us more joy and give us more of a sense of fulfilling our purpose.
Let's start with the obvious here. If you're blatantly disobeying God, then you are not living according to His purpose, and you will certainly experience a sense of aimlessness and worthlessness in your life. If you wake up every day filled with dread or total boredom, you're probably not doing what you were meant to do. God has a purpose for you, an extraordinary one. He uses everyone in their own special way. If you desperately want a change, but feel totally stuck in your life, that's almost certainly a sign that you're not walking according to your God-given purpose.
God wants to bestow divine wisdom on you, which you will receive by talking to Him daily through prayer and by digging into His word. He desires for you to have a joyful, ambitious, purposeful life. Trying to discover your life’s purpose can seem like a big, confusing, frustrating subject, but if you do, every day, what you are supposed to do, and make decisions according to God’s will, you will find your purpose. You can trust God to lead you where He wants you to go (Psalm 23:2-3).
Every day is an opportunity to willfully and deliberately seek God with the intent to know Him better than you did yesterday; and to find His purpose for your life and live it out. Today, you can move forward with the deliberate intent to accomplish great things for His kingdom.
